AMANA Qatar, in partnership with QACC, completed the initial phase of the Doha Festival City Project, specifically the IKEA Doha store. This structure combined precast elements with both structural steel and in situ concrete, featuring a basement-level car park, ground-level car park, first and second floors, as well as spaces for a warehouse, showrooms, restaurants, kitchens, offices, extensive external car parks, and landscaping.
The project adopted a fast-track approach, allowing the tenant access to certain areas while construction continued elsewhere.
Emphasis on safety, health, and environmental concerns remained pivotal, particularly as sections of the project were handed over to the client. Notably, this project was among the earliest in Qatar subjected to oversight by the Ministry of Environment, adhering to strict Construction Environmental Management Plan regulations. Stringent requirements set by the Qatar Civil Defense were met, enabling the store to open ahead of schedule.
